What are online coding and AI classes for kids?
Online coding and AI classes help children learn how digital technology works through live lessons and practical projects. Coding develops step-by-step thinking and creation skills. AI learning introduces artificial intelligence, responsible use of AI tools and checking their outputs.
Who can join Future Founders Lab in Kenya?
Children and teenagers aged 6 to 17 can join. Learners are grouped by age, ability and confidence. Beginners start with foundational digital skills; learners with experience can take an assessment for a suitable level.
How much do the classes cost?
The Weekend Program costs KSh 3,000 per learner per month. Quarterly membership is KSh 8,500, six-month membership is KSh 16,500 and annual membership is KSh 32,000. Sibling membership is KSh 2,700 per learner monthly.
When are coding and AI taught in the program?
The program is a progressive learning journey. Its published pathway begins with digital literacy and online safety in months 1–3, followed by coding and digital creativity in months 4–6, AI and problem-solving in months 7–9, then entrepreneurship and a final project in months 10–12. Experienced learners may join a more advanced level after assessment.
Are the classes live or recorded?
The main lessons are live, teacher-led online sessions lasting one hour every weekend, with approximately four structured lessons per month. Contact the team to confirm the next available class and its timetable.
Can my child join from outside Nairobi?
Yes. The main lessons are online, so children can participate from anywhere in Kenya with a suitable digital device and reliable internet. The Future Founders Lab is based at Vision Plaza, Mombasa Road, Nairobi.
Does my child need coding experience?
No. Beginners can start with computer basics, safe internet habits and age-appropriate visual coding. Prior knowledge is assessed so learners join a suitable starting level.
What equipment does my child need?
A computer or suitable digital device, reliable internet and a quiet learning environment are required. A laptop or desktop is recommended for coding activities. Ask the team about the requirements for your child’s level before enrolling.
How is responsible AI use taught?
The learning pathway includes online safety and responsible AI. Children are encouraged to protect personal information, question AI-generated answers and use technology to support their own thinking and creativity. Activities are matched to their age and ability.
How can parents see progress?
Parents receive monthly progress updates, completed projects, quarterly digital skills reports and opportunities for parent-trainer feedback. Learners build a digital portfolio and receive certificates after completing each level.
